Awana Club is a worship oppurtunity for children offered on Wednesday nights. AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and is based on 2 Timothy 2:15. The club encourages children to learn God's word and hide it in their heart.
The Awana ministry embraces five principles:
1. Awana is centered on the Gospel.
2. Scripture memory is a key element.
3. Awana is exciting and fun.
4. Children and Youth are trained to serve.
5. Awana is built on volunteer leadership.
Children's Club are:
Cubbies-Two Years prior to Kindergarten.
Sparks- Kindergarten-2nd Grade
Truth&Training(TNT)- 3rd- 5th Grade
The Awana club time on Wednesday night is from 6:00-7:30. The club features game time, Handbook time and Large Group time along with a time for coorporate worship at the beginning and recognition of awards at the end of the club.
Handbook time is a time to earn awards by completing sections and memorizing bible verses. Large group time is when the Gospel is presented to all those in attendance.
Awana club is a great way for kids to have fun, learn God's word and hear the Gospel. It also provides oppurtunities to worship with other children and adults, learn how to be disciplined and have oppurtunities to work towards goals and gain recognition, prizes and even college scholarships.
